Ever wonder about the voices within Oklahoma’s correctional facilities? A gallery expo displaying creative art and writing by incarcerated women is now on exhibit at Oklahoma City University’s Norick Art Center, located at 1608 NW 26 St.
Entitled “Voices on the Inside,” the traveling exhibit is free and open to the public Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. until Thursday, Nov. 30. It’s an initiative of Poetic Justice, a Tulsa-based nonprofit seeking to empower incarcerated women by finding their voices through Art is Freedom, founded by Ellen Stackable when she learned about the high incarceration rate of women in Oklahoma.
