Living in a tech-focused environment offers advantages but also poses hazards, especially for children. According to the Centers for Disease Control, kids ages 8-18 spend more than six hours on screens daily, not including schoolwork. The Journal of Behavioral Addictions reports that adolescents who spend more time on screens than their peers ultimately exhibit higher levels of depression and anxiety.
While screen time is often necessary, setting daily limits by replacing screen time with other engaging activities helps to maintain balance. Achieving balance is key to maintaining the mental health of our children.
