Rose State adds degree for film studies, digital media

The film industry is booming in Oklahoma. It brought more than 11,000 jobs and $170 million into the state in 2021. Students interested in joining the growing industry can earn an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Rose State College, with two track options offered for film studies and digital media.

Students will learn skills in technology, production, equipment operation, directing, audio and post-production, preparing them for jobs in content creation and filmmaking.

Marcus Mallard, a professor of English, Film and Digital Media at Rose State College, will lead the program. He has extensive experience in cinema education, research and screenwriting.
