When the coronavirus hit in March, businesses across the world pressed pause on plans, including the television industry. Now, as summertime arrives, viewers will most notably see the effects of those programming shifts and production delays.
Shows that already would have aired, such as “The Bachelorette,” have yet to start filming, and the franchise’s spinoff, “Bachelor in Paradise,” likely won’t air at all this year.
Many network and streaming series, including Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” Showtime’s “Billions” and “Shameless,” HBO’s “Succession” and “Euphoria” and more, are pushed back indefinitely. Others, like Netflix’s “The Witcher,” have set dates to resume production.
