Mountain bike tourism in flourishing in Oklahoma and a new trail is expected to draw more enthusiasts to the state.

Boomtown Trail in the Turkey Mountain Wilderness, a 600-acre area near Tulsa, is the largest in Oklahoma. A half-mile long with a 200-foot vertical drop, it has steep hills, jumps, technical rock lines and a metal bridge called a flyover. Due to its difficulty, it is recommended for intermediate and expert riders who have full-suspension mountain bikes.

As part of the Turkey Mountain master plan, more mountain bike trails as well as those for casual hikers will be opening soon.
