Rose State College has formed the collaborative Aerospace Software Institute to meet growing demands within government and industry.
From 1960 to 2000, the amount of functionality provided by software to pilots of military aircraft grew from 8% to 80%, and software size grew from 1,000 lines of code in the F-4A to 5.7 million lines of code in the F-35.
The institute trains software engineers in the skills required for aerospace software design and development, having worked with Tinker Air Force Base to meet an initial requirement for training in Unit Testing of software platforms and C Sharp programming language.
