As Oklahoma City grows and moves forward, the downtown area has continued to become a hotspot for new construction and attractions. Through this progress, the city has found a way to honor OKC’s longest standing mayor, Mick Cornett.
Among the construction in the downtown area, Oklahoma City is building a new convention center and an Omni Hotel. Running between the two new structures is a $4 million covered walkway formerly known as the “4th Street Experience.” In honor of former Mayor Cornett and his countless contributions to the Oklahoma City community, this road will formally be renamed “Mick Cornett Drive.”
