Getting married in a pandemic

In the summer of 2019, my fiancée and I set our wedding date for May 24, 2020. By the time March 2020 rolled around, COVID-19 hit and it became clear that our plans would have to change.

Knowing we did not want to delay the wedding any further, we had to move quickly to ensure that our wedding provided a safe environment. Reflecting on that process, here are a few takeaways that you can apply to any crisis situation:

• Make sure your crisis plan is ready to go.
• Surround yourself with the right team.
• Keep the main thing the main thing.
