by The 100 Companies

Chef Andrew Black was announced as a semifinalist for Outstanding Chef, which is James Beard Foundation‘s most prestigious individual award.

Jamaican-born, Black moved to Oklahoma in 2007 to work at The Skirvin. He later opened Vast and partnered with a Norman restaurateur to create Culinary Edge Concepts in 2017, which includes Grey Sweater, The Black Walnut, the Gilded Acorna and La Baguette Bakery and Bistro in Norman and soon Yukon.

Black faces stiff competition for Outstanding Chef. The winners will be announced at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony on Monday, June 13, at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
