Volunteering can be a fun way to reconnect with your family throughout the year. Here are some tips for successful family projects.

1) Find something fun and age appropriate. If you have young children, they would be perfect for marking labels at a food pantry or measuring rice at a meal-packaging event.

2) Take turns picking volunteer projects so that each child has a voice and an opportunity to explore their passions with you.

3) Remember, you are the role model your children are looking up to. Follow your heart, and you may spark more volunteerism in your children.
