The mural mecca

Winston Churchill once said, “If it weren’t for painting, I wouldn’t live. I couldn’t bear the extra strain of things.”

For most artists, painting is an escape from reality. For those who paint murals, it is a chance to share a piece of themselves with the community. Across America, the public art scene is booming, with an increasing number of old buildings becoming blank canvasses for creative artists.

Tulsa is one such place, and the murals you find there are among the best in the entire nation. Go check out some of Tulsa’s must-see murals in person this weekend.
