Gold Dome may get new life, again

by The 100 Companies

After several attempts to revitalize the landmark Gold Dome, a new proposal may renovate it into a concert venue. Tulsa-based Kismet Koncerts President Mike Brown expects the cost will be at least $10 million to preserve and redevelop the building: “This building is so unique. It needs to be saved.”

Kismet owns and operates several venues in other states. When built in 1958, the round geodesic roof was designed by Buckminster Fuller and represented the dawn of the aerospace age. It’s one of five constructed worldwide and the last remaining prominent “Gold Geodesic Dome.”

Good luck in saving this landmark!
