When foreign countries have stable economies and governments, it’s good business for Oklahoma. More than 401,000 jobs, or 18%, are supported by trade, and $5 billion worth of Oklahoma goods were exported in 2016.
The U.S. Export-Import Bank financed $882 million in exports from 90 Oklahoma companies, and Overseas Private Investment Corp. has invested $733 million in state companies since 1972.
The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, in partnership with the Governor’s International Team, urged Oklahoma’s congressional delegation to support funding the international affairs budget, a mere 1.4% of the total federal budget. What a deal.
