Oklahoma City’s ascension over the last 20 years continues to catch the eyes of urban planners all over the country. The work of former Mayor Mick Cornett, who now works for Jones PR, is the current topic on The Planning Commission podcast.
Cornett recalls his growing awareness of the connection between a community’s health and the quality of its built environment, launching the idea of building pedestrian-friendly streets, more sidewalks, more jogging and biking trails, as well as constructing health and wellness centers for seniors.
