Friendship Across Party Lines

by

While working for President Ronald Reagan, I met fellow Oklahoman John Meek, who became a four-decade friend and mentor.

He was proud to be from Rocky, Oklahoma, population of 200. From humble beginnings, he landed in the highest of places in Washington, DC – serving as press secretary to Senators Robert S. Kerr and Howard Edmondson, working for Presidents John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, and coordinating the raucous 1968 Democratic National Convention.

Later, John opened the successful Hartz Meek International that marketed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial vision and opening. This fella from Rocky made a difference for millions of Americans.
