During Zuckerberg’s visit to Capitol Hill, both the Senate and House Energy and Commerce Committee (HECC) showed interest in regulations for tech companies. Zuckerberg is open to this “if it’s the right regulation,” but warned that some forms of regulation could be burdensome to tech startups.
Day one was heavily focused on the data obtained by Cambridge Analytica and the 2016 presidential election, and day two was focused on data collection and questions pertaining to user knowledge of Facebook’s current policy.
Zuckerberg mentioned that the constantly improving AI tools would help Facebook more proactively monitor dangerous, offensive and illegal content.
