Starting tomorrow, no more taxes on bread, eggs, milk and other groceries. The bipartisan Senate Bill 1283 to eliminate the 4.5% state sales tax was signed by Gov. Kevin Stitt earlier in February.
According to reports from earlier this year, average Oklahomans spend nearly $300 per trip to the grocery store, putting the state in the top 10 in the nation for the highest grocery bill per week. The reduction in the grocery tax is expected to save Oklahoma families hundreds of dollars annually.
