Decent housing improves health, increases educational achievement and strengthens community ties. For the past 32 years, Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity has been working to eliminate housing poverty by providing safe and affordable homes for hardworking, limited-income families in Oklahoma.
To date, Habitat has completed over 800 homes and builds an additional 45-50 annually. Families are chosen based on need, willingness to become Habitat partners and ability to repay the loan. If chosen, they purchase their home at cost and agree to work at least 300 “sweat equity” hours.
