The $45.2 million whitewater rafting and kayaking center, RIVERSPORT Rapids, opens May 7 and will be geared for both family fun and elite athlete training. Here’s what you need to know about the new adventure facility:
- RIVERSPORT will be powered by six pumps weighing over 12,000 lbs. each.
- Each pump circulates 82,000 gallons per minute, totaling 492,000 gallons per minute, which could fill an Olympic-size pool in 80 seconds.
- Approximately 2,000 people of all user levels are able to raft per day, making OKC one of the largest rafting centers in the world.
