It’s trout time – here’s where to fish for them

by The 100 Companies

Rainbow and brown trout thrive in the winter in Oklahoma. Several lakes in state parks are stocked with them, making it an excellent time for trout fishing. Here are three spots that are open for trout fishing only in the winter:

1. Robbers Cave is stocked with rainbow trout from November into mid-March, with fishing from the bank or by wading into Fourche Maline.

2. Sunset Lake is a small 11-acre stocked lake with access from a hiking trail.

3. Blue River is stocked every two weeks from March to November and is hosting a Presidents Day Blue River Trout Derby Feb. 18-19.
