Some of the fittest athletes in the world will take over Tulsa in 2020, after the city recently won its bid to host the IRONMAN triathlon.
The inaugural Certified Piedmontese IRONMAN Tulsa will be the first full-distance IRONMAN triathlon in the United States since 2014. Participating athletes will swim 2.4 miles in Keystone Lake in Mannford before embarking on a 112-mile scenic bike journey through the Osage Hills and will finish with a full marathon that ends in downtown Tulsa.
Tulsa was selected over a few rival cities including Des Moines, Iowa, Memphis, Tennessee and Fayetteville, Arkansas.
