OKC named among best places to live for moviemakers

by The 100 Companies

In the 1930s, notable film companies like Paramount Pictures, MGM, Universal, Fox and Warner Brothers called Sheridan Avenue in Downtown Oklahoma City home, and dubbed it “Film Row.”

Today, Oklahoma’s film industry continues to grow. Oklahoma City recently ranked No. 13 (up two spots from last year) in the best places to live and work for moviemakers (ahead of cities including Dallas, Miami, Baltimore and San Francisco).

Between “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Stillwater,” “American Underdog” and a picture about Ronald Reagan’s life, Oklahoma’s central location, diverse landscape and low costs of living make it a perfect spot for “action!”
