Chances are, at some point during our careers we all have the opportunity to mentor and impart our wisdom onto the next generation of professionals. Here are three tips that every mentor should remember to be the most valuable mentor they can be.
1. Don’t expect those you are mentoring to get it right every time. Making mistakes is part of the whole learning process.
2. Be patient. Patience with younger employees or people new in their career is vital to growth.
3. Be sure to listen. Sometimes as a mentor the best way to help someone is to simply listen to them.
