Ever since Tesla selected Tulsa, Oklahoma and Austin, Texas as finalists for its new U.S. assembly plant, Oklahoma has been making a push to become Tesla’s newest location.
From painting Tulsa’s Golden Driller statue to look like Tesla founder Elon Musk, to social media campaigns that elicited tweeted responses from Musk himself, Oklahoma is pulling out all the stops.
The tech company has yet to announce a decision, but the attention from Musk and Tesla could pay dividends for Oklahoma regardless of the outcome. As a finalist for Tesla’s factory, Tulsa could become an attractive destination for other companies.
