The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) and Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) are partnering to recognize National Work Zone Awareness Week. The annual campaign raises awareness and encourages safe driving through construction work zones.

There are events across Oklahoma to help raise awareness for safe driving in work zones and reduce the number of collisions:

April 5: “Game of Cones – Safety Always Wins” display, featuring a throne of traffic cones, will be at Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa.

April 9: Remembrance ribbons representing 61 fallen ODOT workers to display in Lawton.

April 12: The throne will display at Penn Square Mall.

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) is now making it even more convenient for people to address their PIKEPASS needs. They have introduced a new, full-service PIKEPASS store on wheels. It offers friendly, face-to-face customer service agents who will help new and existing customers open accounts, add or replace passes and pay their PIKEPASS bills.

The mobile store made its first successful stop in McAlester, and the OTA is now planning more events throughout the state. The store helps the OTA achieve its mission of providing safe, convenient and efficient travel across Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority is pleased to announce that the construction along the Turner Turnpike between mile marker 202 and 208 is complete, four months ahead of schedule, due to advanced construction and engineering techniques. The construction wrapped up just in time for the coming holiday season.

This project created an urban turnpike corridor with improved lighting, wider shoulders and additional lanes, ensuring Oklahomans have a safe way to travel across the state. These improvements will decrease the number of accidents and ultimately save lives.
