Value of the Millennial Voter

by

The Oklahoma presidential primary is March 1 – Super Tuesday. For thousands of millennial voters like me, this will be the first election we participate in. Millennial turnout will be a significant factor, as candidates have already made apparent by their campaign strategies.

Since 1960, voter turnout has decreased more than 10 percent, with only 54 percent of voting age-citizens participating in the 2012 presidential election. If this trend continues, each ballot cast in 2016 will have greater value than elections from the previous five decades.

When Oklahomans convene to vote soon, millennials will have more influence than ever before.
