Grab that pole and head to a park with a lake this weekend – it’s free fishing Saturday, offered by the City of Oklahoma the first Saturday of every month. You won’t need a city permit on these days, however you need a state license if you are 16 or over.
A two-day fishing license is $15 and an annual fishing license is $25. An annual fishing license for 16- and 17-year-olds is $5. Licenses can be purchased online here.
You can fish all year at three lakes in Oklahoma City and eight “Close to Home” fishing waters. Visit ok.gov for information.
