The Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma was founded in January 2000 by parents of children with Down syndrome. Its mission is to provide resources, as well as raise awareness and promote acceptance for those with Down syndrome.
Among many of the association’s successful programs is Kylee’s Kitchen, which hosts cooking classes for teenagers and adults with Down syndrome. The classes take place the first four Fridays of each month and are designed to teach and encourage independent living skills.
There are a number of other ways Oklahomans can get involved with DSACO. Learn more about how to volunteer here.
