OERB Excels in the Field & Classroom

by The 100 Companies

The Oklahoma Energy Resources Board (OERB) reports in its 2016 annual report that it cleaned 662 abandoned oil and natural gas well sites in 2016, and more than 15,000 total sites since the program began in 1994. Restoring two to three sites every day, they have invested more than $100 million in cleaning up abandoned well sites through voluntary contributions by the oil and gas industry and royalty owners.

The report also notes that in 2016 OERB spent more than $3.5 million on education initiatives, reaching almost two million students and almost 1,600 teachers across the state.
