This year may mark the end to Prohibition-era alcohol laws in Oklahoma thanks to several groups taking action.
Oklahomans for Modern Laws, the oldest organization pushing for changes, is beginning an initiative petition to require a statewide vote this November. If passed, the constitutional amendment would legalize the sale of cold, regular beer and wine in grocery and convenience stores. Polling on the measure shows a strong majority of Oklahomans favor modernizing our laws.
The Oklahoma 100 sat down with Brian Howe, director of Oklahomans for Modern Laws, to hear his insights on this issue and the coming vote.
