February is Black History Month, a time to honor and celebrate Black art and literature. Some great reads include “The Skin We’re In” by Desmond Cole, “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings” by Maya Angelou and “The Three Mothers” by Anna Maliaka Tobbs.
Another way of celebrating Black joy is by watching movies that celebrate black voices. Movies such as “Moonlight,” “Da 5 Bloods,” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and “Judas and the Black Messiah” are well worth seeing.
Celebrate, learn and reflect – it’s important to keep amplifying black art not just this month, but all year round.
