Oklahoma City Museum of Art visitors can experience the exclusive exhibit titled The Painters of Pompeii: Roman Frescoes from the National Archaeological Museum, Naples. Tickets are available now with limited capacity until Oct. 17. The frescoes, a mural painting technique on wet plaster, were excavated from the Italian cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum centuries after Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 BC.
The collection features more than 80 pieces that were preserved in volcanic ash. In addition, visitors can dine at Café Pompeii, a pop-up restaurant in the Museum Cafe. To purchase tickets and learn more, visit the museum’s website.
