Pre-K Career Day: What I Learned

My son’s school hosted “Pre-K Career Day” where I spoke about helping people “tell their stories.” Surprisingly, I learned a lot, too.

1. Being a warm-up act is tough. An OKC Policeman was way cooler than me, but thank God for real heroes.

2. Overprepare for zingers. I was asked my favorite kind of donut – impossible to answer.

3. Always a chance of tears. As I was leaving, my son begged to come to work with daddy! I doubt he’ll feel the same at 16.

4. Today’s kids are smart. They encouraged me that the future is bright.
