Every year, thousands of people from all over Oklahoma head to Stillwater for the Special Olympics. It’s a three-day event that brings together athletes, coaches and volunteers.
This year, 5,081 athletes, 1,636 coaches and 340 teams registered. That doesn’t include the thousands of volunteers that spent hours planning for the event all year long. Prior to the Olympics, local areas host their own competitions across the state.
From bocce and bowling to track and basketball, the Special Olympics has something to offer all volunteers and athletes. If you’d like to volunteer next year, visit Special Olympics Oklahoma.
