Remember Mickey Mantle’s nickname, “Commerce Comet,” which he earned during his Hall of Fame career with the Yankees? The Oklahoma City Baseball Club is bringing the name back home as the Oklahoma City Comets.
Fan feedback through social media and email submissions, community and key stakeholders, and focus groups played a significant role in selecting the new name. The baseball team remains a Los Angeles Dodgers Triple-A affiliate through at least 2030, featuring players one step away from Major League Baseball.
