Tulsa Symphony awards Educator of the Year at Music Educators Night

March 4 is “Music Educator Night at the Symphony” when The Tulsa Symphony performs “Alluring: An Evening of Opera” at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. 

Pete Peterson will be honored that night as the recipient of the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra Ron Wheeler Music Educator of the Year award. Peterson taught Union Public Schools for 35 years and started the strings program.

The conductor of the Tulsa Youth Symphony’s Concert Orchestra since 2006, Peterson has performed as a cellist with several symphonies and is a member of the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, the Mosaic Trio and the Tulsa Quartet.
