Have you ever dreamed of getting paid to play video games? That dream will become reality for students who are accepted into Oklahoma City University’s (OCU) new eSports management program starting this fall.
Of course, the program includes much more than playing video games, as students will take courses in sport science, broadcasting, advertising, event management, budgeting and content development.
eSports, also known as electronic sports, is a form of sport competition using video games that surged in popularity in the late 2000s. Professional eSports leagues have been created worldwide and in 2018, the industry made $906 million in revenue.
