New Tulsa control tower cleared for takeoff

by The 100 Companies

The Tulsa International Airport is getting a new air traffic control tower. Construction on the Senator James M. Inhofe Air Traffic Control Tower Complex begins this month, replacing the current one commissioned in the 1950s. At the groundbreaking, Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell credited the state’s investment in strengthening aviation as contributing to recruitment and growth of aerospace companies, making it the second largest industry in the state.

The $112 million control tower will be 100 feet taller, ensure thousands of flights take off and land safely and be better equipped with modern technology. Operations are expected to begin by December 2026.
