October commemorates Down Syndrome Awareness Month and the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) is spreading awareness through its #DSWORKS® program.
NDSS envisions a world in which all people with Down syndrome have the opportunity to become valued members of welcoming communities, including workplaces. Employees with disabilities are faced with earning minimum wage or less due to a series of antiquated laws that allow employers to pay them subminimum wages.
#DSWORKS® is an employment program to encourage businesses to invest in hiring those with Down syndrome. Join NDSS by making a donation, whether an hour’s or month’s worth of minimum wages.
