Reagan Smith, Red Dirt Energy work to plug state’s oil wells

by The 100 Companies

Oklahoma City’s Red Dirt Energy (RDE) is spearheading efforts to address orphaned wells in Oklahoma.

Teaming up with Reagan Smith and Kiowa Construction, they’ve launched a $4 million project for the Kiowa Tribe, focusing on well remediation on Tribal lands. Additionally, under Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, RDE is plugging 21 wells at Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge.

With Oklahoma harboring over 123,000 orphaned wells, such initiatives are pivotal. Todd Gallion of Deep Fork NWR and RDE’s COO Scott St. John underscore the projects’ significance in environmental restoration and safety.
