When the Hollywood Foreign Press announced the nominations for the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards, one film shined above the rest. Mank, directed by David Fincher, captured six nominations — more than any other film.
Fincher directed the film following a screenplay written by his father, the late Jack Fincher, who attended Tulsa’s Central High School and the University of Tulsa. Jack Fincher died in 2003.
Mank is a biographical drama about Citizen Kane co-writer Herman Mankiewicz. Although David Fincher — a well-established Hollywood director — waited decades for the right opportunity to direct his father’s screenplay, the movie is now streaming on Netflix.
