Page Woodson school, a historically Black school in the John F. Kennedy neighborhood, has been undergoing a remarkable transformation into housing courtesy of developers Ron Bradshaw and Gina Sofola.
An exciting update is that there will also be a “commemorative plaza honoring the history of the Black American landmark,” according to The Oklahoman. Architects Hans and Torrey Butzer are spearheading the plaza’s design, which will pay tribute to individuals connected to the school, like Frederick Douglass Moon.
Additionally, the plaza will feature terraces as well as book references, creating a dynamic space that seamlessly merges history, modernity and community engagement.
