Deer Creek-native Darci Lynne Farmer became Oklahoma’s first winner of NBC’s popular talent show contest “America’s Got Talent.”
The 12-year-old is a gifted singer and ventriloquist who showcased her skills with the popular puppet named Petunia. America voted Farmer the winner and recipient of $1 million, which she’s already decided how to spend.
“First, I’m absolutely (going to give some) money to the mission program at church,” Farmer said. “Second, I’m definitely going to give my mom a dishwasher because it doesn’t work and we need a new one. Then I want a pug really, really bad.”
