Alongside “America’s Favorite Fisherman” personality Jimmy Houston, of Cookson, Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell launched Oklahoma Fishing Trail, an initiative to showcase Oklahoma’s fishing opportunities and increase tourism.

The cooperative effort by Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department highlights 38 lakes, 20 fishing experiences and six regional loops, where fishermen can hook a catch among the nation’s most diverse fishing. On average, anglers spend $1.8 billion annually on fishing and support 15,000 jobs.

“Our goal is to become a top 10 tourism state, and the No. 1 fishing state in the nation,” said Pinnell
