Wildlife department sweeps six regional awards

by

Some good news about a state agency. Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation swept six of 12 awards at a western wildlife association annual conference held in Oregon this month.

Leading the charge was Commissioner John Groendyke, who received a lifetime achievement award, the most prestigious award given by the group. He was honored for more than four decades of leadership and participation in nearly every major conservation decision in Oklahoma during that time.

Four additional Department employees were honored as well as the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant for its work to conserve fish and wildlife resources. Congratulations to each honoree.
