Higher education is about more than simply getting a good job. Dr. Kyle Harper, director of the Institute for American Constitutional Hertiage and distinguished scholar says, “Opportunity, creativity and citizenship” are the main pillars in higher education.
“Higher ed. is the engine of discovery that drives the American economy,” said Dr. Harper. Research universities conduct the majority of America’s basic scientific research, which often results in the creation of new technologies, new businesses and new jobs that power long-term economic competitiveness. Additionally, institutions of higher education develop proficient world leaders and provide equal opportunity.
