With the Oklahoma heat rising to triple digits, heat stroke, exhaustion and dehydration are among a few illnesses that could affect your body this summer. Here are a few tips from the Tulsa- and Oklahoma City-County Health Departments to help protect yourself.

• Stay indoors – Activities indoors can be fun and protect you from the sun.
•  Pre-hydrate Drink two to four glasses of water every hour to increase fluid consumption, and drink plenty of electrolytes before heading outdoors.
•  Dress properly – Avoid bright colors, wear lightweight attire and invest in a wide hat. Remember to apply sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15.
