Immigrant Heritage Month celebrates diversity

by

The United States is often referred to as a melting pot. Our nation was built by immigrants who came to this land for opportunity and a better life. Today, this still holds true as immigrants continue to impact our country politically, economically and socially.

Mayors and governors across America are celebrating immigrant tradition and diversity by officially proclaiming June as Immigrant Heritage Month. This is the fifth year for Immigrant Heritage Month, which is organized by “I Am An Immigrant.”

The Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Guthrie and El Reno mayors have all proclaimed June as Immigrant Heritage Month. Learn more here.
