Most people receive lifetime awards after decades of service. However, David Holt has broken the mold as the first OKCityan of the Year at the ripe age of only 37. While OKC Friday praises his municipal successes in the arts, education and business, a lesser-known area is helping domestic violence victims.
The Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women honored him with the 2014 Guardian Award for sponsoring legislation that helps direct victims to appropriate services for safety. At a young age, Holt already has moved this city forward on many issues and is most deserving of this award.
