Apparently the right name was chosen for the Gathering Place in Tulsa, a 66.5-acre park along the Arkansas River that was designed to be an interactive natural space where diverse communities could come together.
The George Kaiser Family Foundation led the project to build the park. Its attractions include an Adventure Playground, Fairyland Forest, Spiral Connector and Towers and a boathouse with kayaks and pedal boats.
The park opened in September 2018 and recently welcomed its 10 millionth visitor – the Burns family, Steven, Maria and their two children, Alice and Nathaniel. They were given a special bag with park treats.
